It’s been easy to predict what would come next.

For over a year now, the entire world has collectively suffered a strike against our essential lives. We have yet to assimilate how devastating the loss of life, freedom, and job security has been.

So traumatic has been the impact that it has equaled a decade, perhaps a generation, of influence. And with tremendous pressure will always come to an equal and opposite response.

Liken what is occurring now to the Black Death and how it influenced social, economic, cultural, and religious changes. The response to the Black Death led to the Renaissance, the age of art, architecture, and literature.

You Need an Integrity Cleanse, Here’s Why and How To Do It

There is another factor to consider in predicting what will happen next.

It is the natural progression of humankind, summarized in Newton’s third law of Physics. It can be explained like this: when object A pushes on object B, then object B pushes A with the same force but in the opposite direction.

Therefore, those in power are mistaken to believe that suppression means continuing control. Or that devious tactics will forever result in more revenue or influence. In fact, the opposite will occur. 

I could list the current social upheavals that are happening because of past strategies. But you’ve likely had enough of that news and are searching for the deeper meaning and a way to navigate it all.

Let me just say that no wonder the #metoomovement and #blacklivesmatter and @robinhood are profoundly reshaping our culture today. 

There is a rising up, a revolution, of those who have been oppressed. Because human beings will grow stronger and evolve from hardships.

I’m somewhat offended when people point to “cancel culture” to explain current events. There is something much more profound and more robust happening.

This is about the innate freedom we each have to create, to act. And if we are made to store up our grievances or ideas until a time presents itself, so much greater the motion forward.

This is a terrifying concept for those who have misused their power over others. I see their fear being manifested in some disturbing ways: with guns, misinformation, and cruelty. But social change can not be stopped. There is no historical evidence of a culture remaining the same forever. And any attempt to quelch this type of movement will result in a greater force of change.

The 3 Effs To Take Control

“If you can’t beat them, join them.”

There is one last lesson to learn from history: the Age of Enlightenment, which was ushered in by new scientific discoveries, and upended doctrines that no longer served the world.

That age was predicated by far lessor information, scientific discoveries, and technology than we now can access.

And so we have the great collision that will bring about unprecedented change in thinking, spirituality, culture, and art.
