Vucic: Prohibition of movement for Easter from Friday to Tuesday, from next week three dates for seniors

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic confirmed tonight that the measure to ban movement during Easter will run from 5pm until Tuesday until 5am, which was introduced in the fight against the virus coronary pandemic.

“We spoke with experts, and they support it. The decision will be in half a day. On Good Friday, citizens will be able to buy everything,” Vucic said on Radio-Television Serbia.

He pointed out that citizens over the age of 65 will be allowed to move three times a week during the “curfew” next week.

“The idea is to set aside eight hours for retirees in three days. We have to set aside eight or six hours and say that they can have a maximum of half an hour and up to 300 meters from home,” Vucic said.

He added that they would be provided with surgical or epidemiological meshes.

“We will provide a mask to any pensioner who is not there. And again we will ask them not to go out if they do not feel the need,” he said.

He said that parents with children with developmental disabilities would be able to go outside at any time of the day, and not just between 8pm and 8pm, as deputy director of the Batut Institute Darija Kisic Tepavcevic said earlier today.

Speaking about the request of the Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) for the Serbian government to suspend the ban on movement for believers to attend Sunday liturgy, Vucic said that he had made a deal last Saturday with Patriarch Irenaeus different from the Synod’s request.

“Whatever I say, I will be crucified by a section of the public. All I can guarantee is that tomorrow I will try to talk to the patriarch and the people of the Synod. But, have no doubt, I will support the doctors and the life. And what decisions we will make no it is on our minds to arrest the bishops and the clergy.

Commenting on the condition of the Gerontology Center in Niš, which entered the coronal virus due to the omission of the authorities and infected more than 140 people, Vucic said that the arrested director of the institution, as well as other children and children of the residents who insisted on entering and seeing their own, were the culprit. parents.
