French doctor: Coronavirus arrived long before the first confirmed cases

A patient diagnosed with pneumonia in Paris on December 27 actually had a coronavirus, his doctor said.

According to the BBC, a sample of the patient, who was then taken, was retested for coronavirus and it appeared that the man had COVID-19.

The patient is a man in his fifties who has fully recovered; no idea where he contracted it because he did not travel to areas where coronavirus cases were reported then.

This news shocked the French community, because it means the virus arrived in this country a month before everyone thought. Namely, the first cases, as previously thought, were recorded in France on 24 January.

Of the three, two were in Wuhan, the Chinese city where the outbreak began, and the third case was their close family member.
