During the coronavirus at the Cathedral Church in Novi Sad, communion of citizens with the same teaspoon

Church of the Holy Great-Martyr George (Saborna Crkva) in Novi Sad, Serbia

Novi Sad: A communion of citizens was organized three days ago at the Cathedral Church in Novi Sad.

As the video shows, a large number of citizens stood in line in front of the church, all communing with the same scoop, despite warnings and measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.

The service was performed just a day after the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Irinej, urged the clergy to adjust the services to decisions of the Serbian government, which include, among other things, a ban on gathering more than five people in one place.

The service, which began around 10 am, and on which the participant was wearing a protective mask, was also broadcast by the provincial public service – Radio Television of Vojvodina.
