Dr. Konjhodzic: The virus does not die with the patient, but without living cells the possibility of replication disappears

(Patria) – Riyadh Konjhodzic, genetic medicine and molecular diagnostics specialist for the Patria news agency, answered the question that has divided the public and the profession in recent days – whether a virus is dying with a patient.

According to RS Health Minister Alen Seranic, there is no fear of the virus after the death of the infected person.

” The virus dies the moment a person dies, because he needs a living cell to reproduce and life itself. However, an autopsy officer should enforce personal protective measures no matter what the cause of death, ” said the entity entity minister.

On the other hand, Assistant Federal Minister for Public Health Dr. Goran Cerkez argues the opposite.

“It’s important to say that the virus does not die with the patient,” he noted.

Konjhodzic clarified the dilemma.

“It’s a complex question, but the general answer is no, but without living cells, the possibility of virus replication is disappearing,” Konjhodzic said.

We asked why autopsies were not being done in KS and what might be the issue.

“I really can’t say that, it’s not my profession either, and I don’t have all the information. It is illogical to me not to do it, autopsy is a pillar of medicine, and the only absolute diagnosis, but I say, I do not like to speak outside my own profession, “Konjhodzic added.
