The Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for the Western Balkans, Sir Stuart Peach, arrived at the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina where he was welcomed by all three members of the Presidency

Peach was appointed to this position by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson almost two weeks ago, and before that he was the chairman of the NATO Military Committee earlier this year.
When he was appointed British envoy, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss emphasized that as a democracy that values freedom, this country will help the countries of the Western Balkans to defend and promote the purpose of freedom.
Dzaferovic calls for intl military presence, Dodik tells UK’s Peach RS a factor
Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency member, Sefik Dzaferovic told UK’s Western Balkans envoy, on Tuesday, Sir. Stuart Peach that international military presence in charge of ensuring the country’s stability should be reinforced, while Serb Presidency member Milorad Dodik said the Republika Srpska (RS) entity is a factor in the country that must be respected.
“Bosnian state institutions must not be conditioned by anything and no one has the right to block their work. What I also said is that BiH should continue working, as before the blockade, on the14 EU priorities and the Reform Program. That would be best for all of us in this country,” Bosniak Presidency member Sefik Dzaferovic after the meetings with the British envoy Sir. Stuart Peach.
The political blockade of the country, which can turn into a security crisis one, does not suit anyone, said Dzaferovic, adding that the British envoy expressed support to the EUFOR mission in BiH.
“I said that in BiH, apart from the need to respect the Office of the High Representative, I think that the international military presence should be strengthened. That would be a small effort that would achieve a great result,” Dzaferovic noted.
Dodik stated that the envoy of the British government informed the three-member Presidency about his mission…
“And encouraged us to dialogue. I don’t think that BiH needs an envoy. We need internal dialogue and that there are no taboo topics. Let’s put all the items on the agenda and reach a political agreement,” he pointed out.
During the talks, Sir Peach expressed regret over the deaths of “56 or 59” British soldiers killed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik said, telling him that many Serb civilians had been killed in the NATO bombing.
“they should be mourned as well. There is no war in BiH and the hysteria that is being created is completely unnecessary. The RS is acting in accordance with the Constitution and ie will not go beyond the Constitution,” the Serb Presidency member said.
He concluded by saying that the RS is a “factor and a party” that should be respected in Bosnia and Herzegovina and if the country “wants to go forward” things cannot be different in that respect.
