Three people, with an average age of 70, have died in the Zlatibor district since the coronavirus infection.
The municipality of Arilje has long resisted the infection and was one of the few in which no cases of coronavirus were confirmed. However, the first infected person was registered yesterday, a man (68) who died shortly after at the hospital in Uzice as a result of the infection.
– It is still being examined where it could have become infected. What made the situation worse were the atypical symptoms. He had stomach pains, nausea and vomiting. He did not cough or fever, and even drove himself to the Požega Health Center. We were all struck by the news of our fellow citizen’s death. Everyone who has been in contact with him is in mandatory isolation – said Milos Nedeljkovic, the Mayor of Arilje.
In this small municipality of Zlatibor district, all measures to prevent the spread of the virus corona have been taken since the state of emergency began.
– Every day, public areas are disinfected, both in urban and rural areas. Citizens are disciplined and do not violate the prohibition measures – Nedeljkovic points out.
