North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered the military, dedicated industry, and nuclear weapons sector to accelerate preparations for war to counter “unprecedented US confrontational moves”.
As reported by the local media, at the meeting of the ruling party, he also said that Pyongyang will “expand strategic cooperation with anti-imperialist independent states” while talking about policy directions in the new year.
Reuters reminds us that North Korea, among other things, is expanding ties with Russia. Washington accuses Pyongyang of supplying military equipment to Moscow for its war with Ukraine, while Russia provides technical support to help North Korea improve its military capabilities.
South Korean President Jun Sukjul visited the border area to determine the defensive position of the unit deployed there and called for an immediate response if there was any provocation by North Korea.
At the party meeting, Kim also spoke about the economic goals for the coming year, evaluating it as a “decisive” to achieve the country’s five-year development plan, KCNA reported.
