A new drug that can potentially regrow teeth is entering human trials.
The team plans to start clinical trials in July of next year after positive results in mice and ferrets.
The drug, developed by blocking a specific gene, will be tested on healthy adult humans, and if successful, a trial for children with a genetic disorder affecting tooth development is planned for 2025.
The drug could potentially be available for regulatory approval by 2030, providing a new option for those with tooth loss.
