Montenegro: The Serbian Orthodox Church organized a liturgy and liturgy in Niksic yesterday, in the presence of a large number of people who did not respect social distance or use protective masks.

The Bishop of Budva-Niksic and seven priests of the Serbian Orthodox Church were ordered to be detained for 72 hours after they were questioned by the prosecutor’s office in Niksic. It is suspected that they committed the criminal act of not acting according to health regulations because, contrary to the orders of the Ministry of Health, they violated the ban on gathering in a public place, which was passed to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

After that, the National Coordination Body (NCT) for Infectious Diseases called on the State Prosecutor’s Office to take legal measures as soon as possible and prosecute the organizers of the illegal and highly epidemiologically risky public gathering in Niksic.

NKT assessed that the joint efforts and achieved results of all institutions and citizens in preserving health and life tonight in the most rude way tried to be destroyed by illegal public gatherings.
