Ukraine Receives 1.2 Billion Euro Aid Package From EU to Help Stave Off Russian Invasion
Ukraine has thanked the EU for a 1.2 billion euro aid package designed to assist Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression and a possible full-scale invasion.
President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with President of the European Council Charles Michel on Monday to discuss the funding package and seek new ways of punishing Russian aggression.

EU Commission Chief Ursula Von der Leyen, who spoke with Zelensky on Friday, said the EU aid was designed to “help Ukraine now to address its rapid escalation in financing needs due to the conflict”.
On Monday, Von der Leyen urged the European Council and EU lawmakers to urgently approve the emergency support and rapidly disburse the first tranche of 600 million euros.
