Petrofac completes Oman’s Rabab Harweel Integrated Project

Located in the southern area of Oman, the $1.25bn gas project was finalised after six years of construction

Global oilfield services provider Petrofac has revealed that it has delivered its Rabab Harweel Integrated Project in Oman.

Located in the Harweel cluster of fields in the South Oman desert, the $1.25bn development encompasses gathering systems, sour gas processing facilities, injection systems, and all the associated flowlines and pipelines.

Petrofac provided engineering, procurement, construction management and commissioning support services on the project.

The firm added that in-country value (ICV) was a “critical consideration” throughout the project and exceeded all our targets for Omanisation. Additionally more than a third of the project’s total procurement value was sourced in the sultanate.

Commenting on the completion, Petrofac’s project manager, Khalid Abdul Kadar, said: “Achieving this milestone marks the successful completion of a six-year project journey. This success is down to all the people involved and a ‘one-team’ approach, particularly as we have had to overcome the recent COVID-19 and oil and gas industry challenges.”
