Believers around the world prayed the Eid prayer

Muslims around the world are celebrating Eid al-Fitr today, and believers filled mosques in many cities this morning to offer Eid prayers together and congratulate each other on one of the greatest Muslim holidays.

Believers who came to perform the Eid prayer respected the epidemiological measures introduced to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Therefore, the mosques were not usually full, as in previous years. Among others, measures include respect for social distance, the use of protective masks and one’s own prostrations (prayer mats), and ablution at home.

Today, about 90,000 Muslims performed the Eid prayer in the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, thus celebrating Eid al-Fitr, the largest Muslim holiday.

From early morning around the complex of the al-Aqsa Mosque, long lines of believers could be seen arriving for the Eid prayer. In the complex of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, before Eid prayers, they listened to the recitation of passages from the Qur’an, and brought “takbeers“.
