Today in the Vatican, at his first audience this year, Pope Francis received the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić
President Komšić and the “Holy Father” had a private conversation at the Papina Apostolic Palace, where Komšić met Pope Francis with the latest events in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Komšić and Pope Francis in a warm conversation also touched on the problems that Bosnia and Herzegovina are facing, mainly with the departure of people from all over the region, as well as the challenges of modern times.
In a private conversation, they spoke especially about the importance of preserving universal values.
At the end of the visit to the Palace, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina presented a gift to Pope Francis, and it is being worked on the valuable publication of the book the Bosnian Kingdom, as well as the ring to the seal of the Bosnian ruler from Donja Zgošće near Kakanj.
Željko Komšić also met with Archbishop Paul Gallagher, secretary of the Vatican for relations with countries.
In a conversation with Komšić, the Archbishop drew the role of the Vatican in recognizing Bosnia and Herzegovina as an independent state, as well as the great support they still give to independent and sovereign Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Archbishop Gallagher was also interested in the security-political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the relation of neighboring, and other countries towards Bosnia and Herzegovina and the crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
